DESCRIPTION:Trip difficulty: Moderate; Walking Distance: less than 2 miles; Trip Duration: return mid-afternoon; Elevation Gain: minimal; Ground Condition: walking through desert scrub on established trails in the canyon. Restrooms at the campground and Cultural Center.\nBaboquivari Canyon at the foot of the peak and on the Reservation is one of the most spectacular locations in the state with very lush vegetation, soaring cliffs, and Sonoran birds. We will bird around the campground area, pushing up on established trails to investigate what birds might reside in this area. Lunch at the campground and then on the way back, we’ll stop at the Cultural Center in Topawa for a short visit to learn more about the tribe and their culture.\nWear good walking shoes and layered clothes with hat, bring binoculars, water and snacks/lunch. Limited to 11 participants – car-pooling required.
