SUMMARY:Isabella Lee Natural Preserve with Holly Kleindienst
DESCRIPTION:Trip difficulty: Moderate. 2.5 mile loop over level, but often soft, uneven and dusty terrain. No restrooms are available.\nIsabella Lee Natural Preserve, at the confluence of Agua Caliente and Tanque Verde washes in northeast Tucson, is a dry mesquite bosque providing year-round habitat for resident and migrating birds. Spring brings large numbers of Lucy’s Warblers and Bell’s Vireos to the bosque to breed. Many year-round residents will also be singing on territory, and we’ll be on the lookout for early migrating songbirds making a brief stop at the preserve to refuel. Wear good hiking shoes, dress in layers, and bring binoculars. Meet in the dirt parking area on the northeast corner of the Preserve; from Tanque Verde Road take Bonanza Road south to the end of the road. Wrap up by 10 am.
