The last Sunday of the month we venture to one of Tucson’s many urban parks to hone our birding skills in a fun and joyful manner. This month we visit Himmel Park.\nWhen you combined tall trees, open fields and nearby water you are in for a great day of birding. Come join fellow birders as we explore this central hotspot known for a variety of birds year-round plus chances at migratory species. This park sports a list of nearly 179 species, so you just might find your next favorite bird.\nThe pace will be relaxed with seating available for breaks or during mini bird sit moments. Questions always welcome. Whether this is your first time or you’ve been birding for years, there is always something new to experience. Open to all levels.\nPlan to wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring your binoculars, hat, water and snacks as needed. Meet in the north parking lot by the library which is accessed from E. First Street. Limit 12 participants.\nPlease note monsoon conditions may require changes to our schedule outing.
