SUMMARY:Sunday in the Parks: Crossroads at Silverbell District Park with Andrea Serrano
DESCRIPTION:Trip difficulty: Easy. Walking Distance: 1.5-2 miles. Trip Duration: 2-2.5 hours. Ground Condition: Paved pathway. Ample parking, restroom facilities and benches available at periodic intervals throughout the park.\nWelcome to Sunday in the Parks! The last Sunday of the month we venture to one of Tucson’s many urban parks to hone our birding skills in a fun and joyful manner. This month we visit Crossroads at Silverbell District Park with access to the Santa Cruz Shared Use Path (The Loop).\nWhen you combined desert vegetation, fields, water and large trees you are in for a birding adventure. Come join fellow birders as we explore this Marana hotspot known for its park birds, desert favorites plus the chance of a rare migrant. This area sports close to 200 species, so you just might find your next favorite bird.\nThe pace will be relaxed with extended time in each habitat. Whether this is your first time or you’ve been birding for years, there is always something new to experience.\nOpen to all levels. Plan to wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring your binoculars, water and snacks as needed. Meet in the parking lot just south of the library which is accessed from either North Cortaro Rd or North Silverbell Rd.\nLimit 12 participants.\nLeader: Andrea Serrano, birdingwithjoy@gmail.com\nRegistration for this trip is free. \n \nHeader Image: Say’s Phoebe by Shawn Cooper\n
