SUMMARY:Fort Lowell Park with Daphne Sewing
DESCRIPTION:Trip difficulty: Easy. 1-1.5 mile loop on mostly level ground, paved & grassy surfaces with uneven areas. Restroom facilities & water available.\nFort Lowell Park, an urban park located in central Tucson, draws a wide variety of bird species with its habitat mix of open fields, desert scrub, and trees. We’ll look for wintering ducks such as American Wigeons on the pond, flycatchers like the brilliant Vermilion Flycatcher along the field edges, woodpeckers in the pecan grove, and common desert scrub birds. We hope to see 20-30 species. Meet at the picnic pavilion near the pond next to the main parking lot off Craycroft. Bring your binoculars. Wrap up around 10:00 am. Limit 12 participants.\nLeader: Daphne Sewing, kestrel5102@gmail.com\nRegistration for this trip is free.\nHeader Image: American Wigeon by Stephen Nelson\n
