SUMMARY:Birding By Habitat at Isabella Lee Natural Preserve with Karen Howe
DESCRIPTION:Trip difficulty: Moderate. Walk 2-3 miles primarily on dirt paths that are uneven and sandy in places.\nIsabella Lee Natural Preserve, at the confluence of Agua Caliente and Tanque Verde washes in northeast Tucson, is a mesquite bosque providing year-round habitat for resident and migrating birds. This trip is intended for those new to birding or for visitors who’d like an introduction to local birds. We’ll practice identifying birds by shape, sound, color, and behavior and will explore the connections between the birds and their habitats.\nWear good walking shoes, and bring binoculars.\nMeet in the parking area at the end of N Bonanza Ave (there are two small parking areas – park in either one). N Bonanza Road is accessed by taking a right turn from E Tanque Verde Rd after The Lakes at Castle Rock community.
