SUMMARY:East Woodland Road with Linda Hanson & Laurel Salvador
DESCRIPTION:Trip difficulty: Moderate. Approximately two-mile hiking round trip on mostly uneven surfaces. No restrooms, water or benches are available.\nGeared to those new to birding or the Tucson area, we’ll walk along the road first, checking telephone poles for hawks, fields for blackbirds and flycatchers. We’ll continue onto open grassland trails, looking for falcons that were seen there, plus sparrows, woodpeckers, towhees, western meadowlarks, etc. Take Tanque Verde Road east of Catalina Highway and turn south onto Woodland Road. Continue south until the road bends and turns west. We will meet where the road bends and turns west. Please park along the road without blocking driveways and please carpool if possible; parking is limited. Sunhat, water, warm clothes, and walking shoes are recommended. We’ll wrap up around 10:30 AM. This walk is designed for those with little to no birding experience or new to the Tucson area. Limited to 8 participants.\n Leaders: Linda Hanson (birdwithlinda@gmail.com ( mailto:birdwithlinda@gmail.com )) and Laurel Salvador (laurelsalvador@yahoo.com ( mailto:laurelsalvador@yahoo.com )).\nRegistration for this trip is free.\nHeader Image: Prairie Falcon by Joan Gellatly\n
