SUMMARY:El Rio Preserve – Accessible Birding with SAAWR
DESCRIPTION:Registration for this walk is free.\nTrip Duration: 1.5 hrs. Ground Condition: Large cement viewing deck with two benches overlooking a pond, next to a paved shared-use path. A covered seating area and two port-o-johns available at entrance (one is wheelchair accessible).\nJoin Kimberly Aikins of the Southern Arizona Accessible Wildlife Refuge (SAAWR) and Tucson Bird Alliance Volunteer, Marcia OBara for an outing designed for nature lovers with accessibility challenges; wheelchairs, walkers, or other assistive devices are welcome. On this trip, we will gather at Marana Parks & Rec’s newer birding spot: El Rio Open Space Preserve. Here, we’ll look for migrating waterfowl, Vermilion Flycatchers, and a variety of other species. We will finish by 9:30 am.\nEach registered participant is welcome to bring a support person.
