DESCRIPTION:Registration for this trip is free. \nCome see the sandhill cranes, ducks, and hawks that winter in the Willcox Playa. Those new to birding or who are mobility challenged are especially invited, since we’ll bird from our cars with scopes and bird charts as we drive the dirt road around the ponds. Be ready for cold, wind and wet. Bring water, snacks/lunch and carpool money. Leave from the back of the Walmart parking lot (NE corner) at Houghton and Old Vail Road by 8 a.m., back before 2 p.m. Seventy miles one way. Restrooms at Texas Canyon rest stop on the way and the Historic Train Depot in Willcox after birding\nMask is required for unvaccinated participants.
