DESCRIPTION:To make sure environmentalists vote in the upcoming Georgia run-off election for the U.S. Senate, join us for another first-of-its-kind event: Birding & Phone Banking!\nWe’ll bird at Sweetwater Wetlands from 9:30 to 11:30am (with optional coffee and donuts from 9:15 to 9:30), then head over to Tucson Bird Alliance’s nearby offices at the Historic Y (a short ten-minute drive) and phone bank together from noon to 1:30pm over coffee, bagels, & other snacks.\nThe phone banking — completely non-partisan — is run by our fabulous partners at Environmental Voter Project, whose mission is to build the power of the environmental electorate by turning low-propensity environmental voters into environmental super voters — engaged citizens who care deeply about the environment and climate change and who show up and cast their ballot in election after election.\nAbout Sweetwater: this popular birding hotspot in urban Tucson offers an easy walk through marshes created by Tucson Water Department to see waterfowl, regular and visiting warblers, and exciting species hiding in the reeds (Wilson’s Snipe, anyone?).\nThe Wetlands are located at 2511 W Sweetwater Drive.\nTucson Bird Alliance’s offices are located at 300 E University Blvd, #120.\nNo previous birding or phone banking experience necessary!\nHelp protect the birds and other wildlife we love by reaching out to environment-loving and climate-concerned Georgians whose voting records show they need extra encouragement to make sure they get out and vote.
