Objective:
Join Tucson Bird Alliance and Desert Fence Busters to protect wildlife from hidden hazards in the desert. Open vertical pipes (often called Death Pipes) pose serious risks to small animals that can become trapped inside. We’re looking for 4 people per location.
Position Description:
Volunteers will help by sealing these openings with cement caps to make the landscape safer for wildlife. Tasks include climbing short step ladders (1-3 ft), carrying buckets (up to 10 lbs) short distances (10-20 feet), reaching to cap pipes, and inserting cardboard liners into openings.
Requirements:
Must be able to bend over, climb ladders, and carry up to 10 lbs. Please bring water, a snack, and sun protection, and wear long, breathable clothing.
