In December a wide diversity of wintering birds are present at Sweetwater, particularly large flocks of waterfowl, doves, and blackbirds. Trying to pick through and document all of these birds in a checklist can be a daunting challenge! In this workshop we will practice how to get a quick count of large bird flocks, how to document rare and unusual species, and other best practices for putting together an eBird checklist. This workshop will be a great learning opportunity for experienced and newer birders alike and just before our annual Christmas Bird Count on December 16th!
Limited to 12 participants. Sweetwater Wetlands is located at 2511 W Sweetwater Dr.
Leader: Alex Patia
