Trip difficulty: Easy; Walking distance: 1.3 miles, Trip Duration: 2-2.5 hours, Elevation gain: None; Ground condition: Groomed gravel trails with some uneven surfaces. Drinking water and restrooms available at park’s entrance. Benches and shade available at periodic intervals around the Wetlands. Join Alex Patia on this inclusive outing that welcomes LGBTQIA+ birders, allies, and anyone interested in connecting with nature in a supportive community setting. On this field trip we will explore one of Tucson’s best birding sites: Sweetwater Wetlands. We’ll take our time enjoying all the birds and wildlife including ducks, songbirds, reptiles, insects, and whatever else we can find! All levels of birders are welcome from brand new beginner to experienced. Binoculars are available to borrow for anyone who wants them.
