Virtual Event: Cuenca Los Ojos CBC: What, When, Where, and How You Can Get Involved
Join us online at 11am (MDT), Tuesday, December 2nd for a special virtual event promoting the Cuenca Los Ojos Christmas Bird Count. This count offers a rare opportunity to explore one of the most under-birded regions of northern Sonora, at breath-taking Rancho Nuevo, where unique habitats and limited access have kept the area largely unexplored by the birding community. Participants will learn about the landscape, expected species, logistics, and how this count contributes to broader regional and continental conservation efforts.

Surveyors who take part in the December 14th count will have the chance to access remote areas typically closed to the public, making this an exciting opportunity for both seasoned birders and adventurous newcomers. Rustic accommodations and meals can be provided for an additional fee, making participation simple and comfortable for those joining from farther away. Whether you’re looking to discover new terrain, support conservation science, or simply enjoy a unique CBC experience, this event will give you everything you need to get involved.
Registrants will be emailed a Zoom link a couple of days prior to the event.
Registration for this event is free.
