De Anza Trail at Santa Gertrudis with Luke Safford
Friday, October 9, 7:30am – 10:30am
$50/member, $100/non-member
Trip Difficulty: Moderate. Trails along the Anza Trail are generally good condition and are mostly hard packed dirt with some softer sandy spots. We will walk about 1 -2 miles total at a slow birding pace.
We’ll walk along the “mighty” Santa Cruz River on the Anza Trail starting at the Santa Gertrudis trailhead. Fall migration will be tailing off but we should still have lingering migrants including Western & Cassin’s Kingbirds, Summer & Western Tanagers, and Lazuli Buntings. We’ll also keep our eye out for other fun species like Inca Dove, Red-naped Sapsucker, Black Phoebe, and Black-throated Gray Warbler. No bathroom on-site.
Limited to 10 participants.
