“Get Ready for the Southeast Arizona Birding Festival” with Luke Safford

Thursday, June 25th: 11am – 12pm

We are less than two months away from our favorite birding festival and this event will whet your appetite for what you’ll experience. Hear from festival presenters and leaders (see a snapshot below), get your first look at the festival t-shirt, have an opportunity to ask questions about the birds you’ll see, and more. We’ll also do a drawing for a free festival experience – your choice of the Culmination Banquet, “Listers” movie preview, or Bonner Black tickets. Must be present to win!

At the event you’ll hear from:

• Lucas White from Nuzira. Nuzira is a woman-owned camera store built on passion and community and will be our festival photography retail store! Lucas will share what they’ll be bringing down from their store in Scottsdale and will be happy to answer any camera related questions you have.
• Ragan Sutterfield. Ragan works as an Episcopal priest in his native Arkansas and serves as a regional eBird reviewer, and also authored Watch and Wonder: Birding as a Spiritual Practice the most recent of his 5 books. Purchase his book beforehand through our Nature Shop.
• Richele Levins with Arizona Raptor Center. Richele is a rehabilitation agent and educator with the Arizona Raptor Center and will be sharing with us the importance of raptor conservation and will have raptors on display at the festival on Thursday and Friday.
• Christina Baal of Drawing 10,000 Birds. Christina is a wonderful artist who will be leading a Pokemon & Birding Walk, multiple Bird Art Basic classes, and will have a booth in the Nature Expo where you can purchase bird trading cards.
• Sneed Collard. Sneed has written more than one hundred books for children and adults including the humorous award-winning Birding for Boomers—And Everyone Else Brave Enough to Embrace the World’s Most Rewarding and Frustrating Activity. Purchase his book beforehand through the Nature Shop here.
