Santa Cruz Flats with Kathe Anderson
Monday, May 5th – Santa Cruz Flats
Trip difficulty: Easy (mostly car birding, plus some walking on varied surfaces).
We’ll meet at 6am at the at Love’s Travel Stop off I-10 at the Sunland Gin exit, and wrap up there about 10ish. First we’ll head to Arizona City and check out the ponds there, for any lingering waterfowl and common desert birds, before heading into the agricultural areas of the flats. At this time of year, many raptors, sparrows and meadowlarks have migrated, but kingbirds, other flycatchers, swallows and migrants should be coming through. Limit 7 participants.
Leader: Kathe Anderson (kathe.coot@cox.net)
