Volunteer Appreciation Week Virtual Event: Behind the Scenes of the Tucson Bird Count with Jennie MacFarland

Tuesday, April 21, 11am-12pm

Join Tucson Bird Alliance’s Director of Bird Conservation, Jennie MacFarland, for an engaging virtual talk seeing what goes into planning and carrying out the Tucson Bird Count, the oldest spring, urban bird count. We’ll look at where the data goes, how it gets there and how anyone can access the over 20 years of data produced by this count.

In addition to the science, this presentation will show how easy and rewarding it is to get involved. Learn how community members of all experience levels can participate, contribute valuable data, and play a direct role in bird conservation. Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just getting started, this talk offers a great opportunity to connect with local research and make a meaningful impact.

This event is free to join. Registrants will be sent a Zoom link prior to the event.
