Summerhaven Stroll with Luke Safford
Friday, July 10: Birding will be from 8am – 10am with optional brunch following
$35/member, $50/non-member
Trip Difficulty: Moderate. Around one mile walking on mostly paved roads with some incline in
high altitude.
Enjoy a morning walk in Summerhaven looking for Red-faced Warbler, Hairy Woodpecker, Spotted Towhee, Western Tanager and more high-elevation specialties found in mixed conifer forest. We’ll bird for about 2 hours and then head to Beyond Bread for a post-walk brunch (brunch is not included in the price of this walk and is on your own) sitting out on the veranda looking out over the forest. If you would like to carpool we will meet at the McDonalds on Tanque Verde/Catalina Highway at 7am. We’ll be back to the carpool location by noon.
