Santa Cruz River at Trico Rd. with Gerry Hodge

Santa Cruz River at Trico Rd  (Oit Par Camp Trailhead)
Trip difficulty:  Moderate.  A one mile walk over lumpy ground.  No facilities.  Some shade.  About 2 hours in duration.
We’ll walk a little over ½ mile up the flowing Santa Cruz River deep in the agricultural fields of Marana.  The walking is open because the cattle have tramped down the brush and have created paths to follow.  The trails are lumpy and littered with cow pies.
Driving directions:  I-10 exit 242 (Avra Valley Rd.), drive West 10.6 miles and take a right on Trico Rd.  Go North 5.5 miles to the Oit Par Camp Trailhead (on your right BEFORE you cross the Santa Cruz River).
