Birding and Coffee in Oro Valley with Luke Safford & Wild Birds Unlimited, 7:30am – 9:30am
Trip Difficulty: Easy. Walking in city park possibly on paved, grassy, or dirt pathways with little to no incline. No more than one mile total. Bathrooms on-site.
We’ll start the morning by meeting at James D. Kriegh Park in Oro Valley to check the mesquites and open park areas for a variety of birds including Costa’s Hummingbird, Ladder-backed Woodpecker, Say’s Phoebe, Phainopepla, and Rufous-winged Sparrow. This park isn’t birded often, but could hold some good surprises! After birding for about 90 minutes we’ll all head over to Wild Birds Unlimited (less than 10 minutes away) for coffee and pastries, and to hear the latest from them regarding your bird-feeding needs. Limited to 12 participants.
