Tubac Hawk Watch with Tubac Nature Center

Experience the magic of the annual Tubac Hawk Watch, organized by the Tubac Nature Center. Witness the breathtaking migration of raptors like Gray Hawks, Common Black Hawks, and Zone-tailed Hawks soaring along the Santa Cruz River corridor. Expert spotters will be on-site, counting these majestic birds as they journey north. Join us for this unforgettable event celebrating nature’s beauty and the wonders of bird migration in Arizona’s stunning landscape.

Along with event presenting sponsor Kowa Optics will be Vortex, Swarovski, ZEISS, and Hawke; you’re welcome to try them all out and purchase on-site!

  • Thursday, March 13 – Family Day
    • A fun-filled Thursday during Spring Break! From 8 AM to Noon, kids can enjoy a variety of exciting activities, including a Nature Scavenger Hunt, hawk crafts, and the chance to see live raptors up close. Perfect for young nature enthusiasts, this event is sure to inspire curiosity and wonder. Don’t miss the adventure!
    • Tucson Bird Alliance will be hosting a “Family Birding Area”, have a “Nature’s Clean-up Crew” demonstration for kids, and will have a small Nature Shop presence.
  • Friday, March 14 – “Santa Cruz Shines”
    • Discover the amazing work of local non-profits dedicated to preserving and conserving the natural habitat of the Santa Cruz River Valley. Visit their tents to learn about their impactful plans and projects for sustaining these vital natural spaces. Chat with passionate representatives, pick up valuable information, and find out how you can support their efforts.
    • Tucson Bird Alliance will be hosting a small Nature Shop presence and Director of Engagement, Luke Safford, will be giving a presentation “Tips on Identifying Birds” at 1pm at the nearby Tubac Community Center.

  • Saturday, March 15 – Tuesday, March 18 – “Optics Days”
    • Discover the latest in birding and wildlife observation technology! From 9am to 1pm, led by event presenter KOWA Optics, meet representatives from top optics brands of KOWA, ZEISS, Vortex, Swarovski Optik, and Hawke. Try out the newest binoculars and spotting scopes firsthand. Don’t miss this opportunity to “try before you buy”!
    • Tucson Bird Alliance will be hosting daily morning (7:15am) and late morning (11am) bird walks along the nearby De Anza trail and Santa Cruz River, led by staff and volunteers of Tucson Bird Alliance and Tubac Nature Center. Register for these free walks on our field trip page beginning February 1.
    • Come out and shop at the Tucson Bird Alliance Nature Shop each of these days from 9am – 1pm!

Cars- Moving Forward Together

Tucson Bird Allaince is able to accept donated vehicles. We use teh proceeds from donated cars, trucks, SUVs, RVs, boats, motercycels and even airplanes to help fund our mission. Tucson Bird Allaince partners with CARS (Charitable Adult Rides & Services) to help run our vehicle donation program. CARS is a nonprofit that has been processing vehicle donations for nonprofits since 2003.
