Evening on the Lower San Pedro

July 8th, Tuesday, meet-up at 3:00PM

Registration fee: $35/member, $50/non-member*

Trip Difficulty: Easy with only short walks from our vehicles.

Trip Duration: We’ll be doing some birding after dark, so return ~10:00PM. Carpooling required.

The Lower San Pedro is extremely birdy but receives much less attention than deserved.  We’ll be doing some birding as it cools down in the Nature Conservancy 7B Ranch, an extensive mesquite bosque before heading towards a nearby hidden pond to witness a large night roost of Purple Martins.  Jennie and Olya will join us and talk about their program efforts in this area, including nest boxes, Purple Martin nesting and migration, and the local Important Bird Area.  Bring comfortable walking shoes and sun protection, water and snacks/dinner.  Restroom facilities limited.
