February is a great time to see wintering waterfowl at Sweetwater, with possibly up to 10 species of ducks for us to observe and study. We’ll tackle the biggest southwest duck identification challenge: differentiating Mexican Ducks, Mallards, and hybrids of the two. We will also work on separating all three species of teal, identifying ducks that are in flight or asleep, and using size and shape to identify ducks at a distance. While ducks will be the focus we’ll take time to watch other birds as well!
Limited to 12 participants. Sweetwater Wetlands is located at 2511 W Sweetwater Dr.
