Rio Vista Natural Resource Park with Gary Bachman & Scott Olmstead

Trip difficulty: We will meet in the developed area near the parking lot. An improved network of trails provides access through the park. The trails are evenly graded and wide. They may be slippery if it has rained recently. The total walk will be about 1.5 miles at a leisurely pace. This is an easy, casual walk on well-formed, mostly level paths. 

Rio Vista Park is designated as as a Natural Resources Park by the .city of Tucson. About 90% of the area is managed for to maintain native plants and wildlife. Most of the park has open scrub making viewing of birds easy. In mid-October we should find a few lagging migrants, winter inhabitants returning, our usual residents and a few surprises. Be sure to wear good walking shoes, bring a hat, some water and binoculars.
