See Yourself Birding ⋆ Tucson Bird Alliance Skip to content

Southeastern Arizona has an amazing variety of birds, from the tiniest hummingbirds to the impressive array of hawks. Birds that thrive in the harsh desert, and birds that prefer the cool riparian shade. Birds in every color you can imagine.

The variety of birds in our region is only matched by the variety of people who love them.

If you’ve ever wondered about whether birding is for you, wonder no longer! It’s time for you to See Yourself Birding!

Who Is a Birder?

Birders can be found everywhere in and around Tucson. They come from all walks of life, all ages, all neighborhoods. You can enjoy birds with expensive scopes and binoculars, high end cameras and the latest gear, or with nothing but your eyes and ears. Birding doesn’t require any special physical abilities. Unlike some sports or outdoor activities that require a certain level of fitness or strength, birding can be enjoyed by people of all abilities and fitness levels. It’s a great way to get outside, enjoy nature, and learn something new, regardless of your age or physical abilities.

There are no requirements beyond a desire to get to know your flying, chirping, singing, hopping neighbors!
