Join us for a special virtual event with Peg Abbott, owner and Lead Guide of Naturalist Journeys, as she unveils an exciting Tucson Bird Alliance–exclusive trip to southern India’s spectacular Western Ghats, taking place in November 2027. Often compared to the “Sky Islands” of Southeast Arizona, this region is one of the world’s premier biodiversity hotspots—home to dazzling endemic birds, unique mammals, and vibrant cultural landscapes. Peg will guide us through the stunning Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, highlighting destinations such as Nagarhole National Park, Ooty, Rajamalai National Park, Periyar Tiger Reserve, and Thattakad Bird Sanctuary, all places rich in wildlife and alive with natural beauty. Attendees will also get a taste of the region’s legendary cuisine, breathtaking scenery, and the incredible flora and fauna that make this journey so unforgettable. The presentation will also introduce an optional pre-tour extension to the renowned Tadoba Tiger Reserve, one of India’s best locations for spotting Bengal Tigers. With chances to encounter Common Leopard, Asiatic Sloth Bear, Indian Wild Dog, Asiatic Jackal, and even the elusive Rusty Spotted Cat, this extension promises exciting wildlife experiences. Whether you’re considering joining this members-only 2027 adventure or simply eager to learn more about one of the world’s richest natural regions, this virtual event offers an inspiring preview of an extraordinary travel opportunity. Registrants will be emailed a Zoom link a couple of days prior to the event. Registration for this event is free. |
