Paul Bannick

Paul Bannick is an award-winning author and photographer who makes images to inspire education and conservation. Bannick will be sharing his program Woodpecker: A Year in the Life of North American Woodpeckers, based on his new book. Bannick uses his intimate yet dramatic images, up-to-date science, and first hand narratives to explore the lives of North American Woodpeckers through four seasons.

Bonner Black

A songwriter and birder, Bonner Black is a 12-year Music City veteran, accumulating 900k+ streams and 142k social media followers. As an avid birdwatcher, her birding videos have over 15 million views. By integrating her enthusiasm for birds and songwriting, she has cultivated a unique and devout community, hosting bird walks before shows on tour. Rosemary Mosco

Rosemary Mosco is an author, illustrator, and speaker whose work connects people with the natural world. Mosco will be discussing her book, The Birding Dictionary, a “dictionary” filled with hilarious and informative definitions for more than 200 birding terms, plus over 50 witty full color illustrations. She'll be sharing her behind-the-scenes discoveries, and why birding terminology can be so funny.

Festival Headquarters:
Registration Fee

There is a $30 non-refundable registration fee for all festival participants that are attending fee based activities: field trips, workshops, and evening programs. In addition, each activity previously mentioned has its own associated fees. No registration or fee is required to attend the Nature Expo. Click on the buttons below for more detailed information about the different aspects of the festival.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received on or before Friday, July 18, 2025 will be refunded less a 10% processing fee. No refunds will be issued after July 19. Tucson Bird Alliance reserves the right to cancel or revise any event for any reason. If it becomes necessary to cancel a paid event (field trip or dinner) for which you have a reservation, we will notify you and issue a full refund. No refunds will be issued for no-shows.

Scholarships Available

Tucson Bird Alliance is committed to connecting all people to nature regardless of income. Anyone with a financial need is encouraged to apply. Scholarships are given based on availability of funds. Click here for the financial assistance form.

Adam Cayton-Holland

As part of this year’s Southeast Arizona Birding Festival, we are hosting comedian Adam Cayton-Holland, a legit birder and hilarious dude! Catch him doing a comedy set at 191 Toole as part of the Festival. Tickets for the show are $24 and are on sale now.
